The idea

ROlf KAmmerer MAschinenTechnik — when Rolf Kammerer was laboriously working scratch plaster by hand in his father's plastering business, he had the idea for the first machine. The Chameleon was born.

First in the inventor's mind, then on the drawing board, eventually in his own production and series manufacturing. In 1982 the machine went to market — and under the name Rokamat it quickly caught on with painters, plasterers and interior finishers in Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe.

His concept of decoupling the motor from the handpiece and carrying it on a belt won people over: lightweight tools, full motor power. What began as the answer to a specific job-site problem became a brand.
